Well-Read Books is a clean, bright, well-organized store with a spacious and comfortable reading lounge. Customers are encouraged to take their time browsing our collection of 10,000+ books in a variety of different genres including suspense/thriller, mystery, science fiction, fantasy, spirituality, self-help, health, parenting and many more. Our inviting, well-organized children's area features child-size seating and hundreds of titles from classics to Goosebumps, from board books to novels for young adults. Our ever-changing New Arrivals section highlights our most recent acquisitions.

Our inventory is in a searchable computer database. We welcome enquiries about our own collection and offer a search service for titles that we do not have on our shelves. We maintain an up-to-date customer request list and provide a mail order service for out-of-town customers.

Books are treated with respect and handled with care at Well-Read Books. Every book is inspected and cleaned before being shelved.

Well-Read Books is a member of the Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce. We accept VISA, MasterCard, debit cards--and cash, of course.

Well-Read Books is owned and operated by long-time Yukoners Jan Stick, Karen Walker and Hans Herdes. Our children's specialist is Mary Hudgin.

PRICING POLICY

Softcover books sell for half the original Canadian cover price unless otherwise marked. Most hardcovers are priced at 25% or less of the original cover price. First editions, signed books and other special hardcovers are individually priced.

TRADE-IN POLICY

Well-Read Books accepts books in good condition for trade-in. We offer credit of 25% of the original cover price on softcovers and an agreed-upon amount on hardcovers. Customers with book credits pay only 25% of the original cover price on softcovers (rather than 50%) and half our selling price on hardcovers.

For example, if you bring us a book that originally sold for $10.00, we'll give you $2.50 credit. If you buy a book that originally sold for $10.00, you would normally pay $5.00 plus GST, but if you have credit with us you'll pay only $2.50 plus GST.
